It’s best to refrigerate the lychee after picking unless you’re eating them right off the tree. The lychee fruit is also excellent frozen (up to 3 months) and tastes very similar to sorbet! Simple Care
The Emperor Lychee Tree needs protection from wind, but it loves the full sun. It prefers a well-drained slightly acidic soil. Apply a well-balanced organic fertilizer several times in the growing season for higher fruit yield. Pests and disease rarely come calling, just make sure to keep the plant watered, but never allow it to have “wet feet”. And pruning is a cinch. Cut back about 6” after harvest time and watch the bounty come alive the next year!

You can even grow inside as long as you have a south-facing window and optional supplemental grow lights.
