You’ll Never Want a Store-Bought Kiwi After This
The Issai Kiwi is smaller and sweeter than those you typically buy at the grocery store. They’re oval-shaped, about the size of large grapes, and are bright emerald green.

Grows Almost Anywhere in the US!
This is a very cold hardy kiwi plant, which means it will thrive further north than most varieties. Some people call it the Arctic Kiwi because it can withstand freezing temperatures!

No Fuzz, No Fuss! The skin is smooth and easy to pierce so there is no need to peel them. You can bite into them right from the vine. The flesh is juicy and you’ll find small crunchy black seeds in the center.

Many Superior Qualities
These Kiwis are easy to grow and even easier to maintain. Issai Kiwi plants are one of the MOST cold-hardy and sun-tolerant plants available. Kiwis are known for their tropical nature, but this variety stands up to cold weather too. Temperatures as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit don’t phase this robust fruit bearer.

Originating from Northeastern Asia, they’re disease resistant and don’t require much maintenance.

Highly Prolific. Get Up to 1000 Kiwis Each Season
Bearing fruit from late August through September, Issai Kiwi plants have been known to produce to up 1000 kiwis in one season! This high-bearing fruit grows in long, heavy clusters across a sweeping vine. You’ll know the fruit is ripe when it transforms from shiny to a dull appearance and is soft when squeezed. Pick and eat these fresh or refrigerate them for a couple of days. You can also dehydrate them to enjoy throughout the year.

Highly Decorative and Versatile
More than a fruit producer; it’s a fragrant, flowering vine that will beautify any setting.

Medium-green leaves with reddish stems will crop up all over the fast-growing vine. It comes alive in spring with soft, creamy white flowers. A multitude of rounded petals shoots from a light green center. The flowers have an unusual abundance of light-green stamens pouring out of the center, too, for a stunning appearance.

There are multiple options for growing your plant. You can grow it along a wall at the back of your garden or accentuate a dividing wall next to an entertainment space.

It’s visually appealing sprawling over a fence near other vegetables and fruits. You can even let it grow wild, completely covering an arbor on your patio. (Imagine reaching up to pick some kiwis while relaxing on the veranda!)

Your Kiwi plant will thrive in a container. Let it grow up along a nearby window sill or onto a smaller trellis inserted into the planter. Prune it or guide it to grow in the direction you choose. Note that the fruit bears on year-old branches, so don’t chop off next year’s growers.
